Grace Period Registration/Voting

Grace Period Registration is an extension of voter registration, from the regular close of registration, up until and including Election Day, through the close of the polls at 7pm.  Grace Period individuals must vote on the same day as they register to vote.  You must be able to show 2 forms of ID, one needs to have your DeKalb County Address.

Acceptable Forms of Identification, (but is not limited to):

Driver’s License Medicare Card/Public Aid   Card
State I.D. Mortgage or Lease
Bank Statement Passport
Birth Certificate Payroll Check
Car Registration Piece of mail dated within   the last 30 days
Credit/Debit Card Pre-printed Check
Employee I.D. School I.D. Card
Firearm Owner’s Card Social Security Card
Library Card Utility Bill, dated within the last 30 days

Grace Period individuals may register to vote or change their address, in person at our Sycamore  Early Voting Center, beginning the 27th day before the election and continuing through the day before Election Day; and at our other Early Voting Sites, beginning the 15th day prior to the election continuing through the day before Election Day, per the Early Voting Schedule.  Also, on Election Day, you may register to vote at an Election Day Polling Place, keeping in mind that you must reside in the precinct that it serves.  Grace Period Registration/Voting will also be available on Election Day at our Election Day Registration Center: County Campus-Sycamore Administration Building.

The same qualifications, as registering to vote at any other time, applies to Grace Period Registration.
